Meet The Team

Ashley Wilkens, MSN, FNP-BC

With 17 years of experience in healthcare, Ashley brings a valuable skillset in the fields of psychiatry and nursing. She is an ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who provides psychiatric medication evaluation and management that is individualized to each patient and family. 

Ashley has worked with patients who live with mood and anxiety disorders including but not limited to:

Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorders, Personality Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

ASHLEY SPECIALIZES IN ADULT AND ADOLESCENT/PRETEEN POPULATIONS; HOWEVER, SHE CAN TREAT YOUNGER CHILDREN IN CERTAIN CASES. ASHLEY’S NURSING BACKGROUND RANGES FROM URGENT CARE TO PEDIATRICS AND PRIOR TO NURSING, SHE WORKED WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS IN BOTH INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC SETTINGS. 

ASHLEY COMPLETED HER MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING FROM FRONTIER NURSING UNIVERSITY AND MY BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL.

Sonia Walter Practice Manager

As Practice Manager Sonia is responsible for all organizational aspects of our practice. She is responsible for implementing and monitoring practice procedures, managing the client’s experiences within the practice, and ensuring that our mission statement is met on all levels of client care.

Sonia has a Bachelors of Science degree in Youth development with a minor in
Psychology from East Carolina University. While earning her degree she developed a love for working with at risk youth and a passion for outreach. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi national honor society and strives for excellence in all aspects of her work.
Sonia is an advocate for equal rights and fair treatment for all both in and out of the office. She has worked as an advocate for youth within the LGBTQ+ community and continues that work here.
